The Ancient Mariner dates back to the sixteenth century situated at the north endf of the beautiful village of Nether Stowey, situated at the foot of the Quantock Hills, Englands first ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’.
Our pub hotel offers a unique blend of history and 21st Century comforts, including free WiFi in both the bar and our en-suite accommodation, HD TV thoughout the property and flat screen TVs in large, modern bedrooms. We are ideally situated for all to explore miles of walks and breathtaking scenery over the Quantock Hills.

To the rear of the property we have a detached building that houses our 9 executive suites complete with wetrooms, one of which boasts a fully equipped disabled wetroom and 2 bedrooms.The bar has Real Ales on tap, as well as traditional Somerset cider.
Children and dogs are welcome in all areas of the pub and accommodation.
Our Location
The famous ‘Colleridge Way’ starts and finishes at our lovely pub where you can park your car in our 35 space carpark and then pop in for a bite to eat or relax in the restaurant whilst savouring our home made food. Exmoor, Cheddar Gorge, Wells and Glastonbury are all within easy driving distance.

Wonderful overnight stay, visiting relatives in Nether Stowey. The ancient Mariner provided an excellent base for our visit, being located in the heart of the village
